Fourth graders are amazing!

Dear Parents,

It has been a busy four-day week. We are cruising along in class. This week we started chapter two in math which focuses on estimation and number theory. It's time for the students to brush up on their multiplication facts through 12. Lessons in this chapter include prime and composite numbers, factors, multiples, rounding, and more.

We have been working diligently in class on our survival book report. The students have taken setting notes in their lit logs. These notes will be the basis for the final writings. Next week we will analyze the main character. Students are encouraged to finish reading their books this weekend.

We are becoming familiar with our social studies book, The Ohio Adventure, and looking up facts using captions, timelines, text and other features of the book.  The first chapter is mainly about Ohio's geography. Social studies time is a favorite among the students.

We hope you have an excellent weekend!
