It feels as if autumn has arrived with chilly mornings and warm afternoons. With the weather turning colder and being unpredictable, please be sure your child has appropriate clothes for outside recess. It’s a good idea to store a sweatshirt in his/her locker for days when the temperature drops. Also, on outdoor science days, please help your child remember a water bottle, sturdy shoes, and clothing appropriate for the weather.
We are looking forward to seeing the students’ book boxes. Each student will have an opportunity to informally share his/her book box with the class this week and next. Next week in during reading time, we will focus on nonfiction reading via Time For Kids magazine.
This week in math we focused on factors and prime and composite numbers. Next we will work with multiples and wrap up chapter 2.
In your child's Friday folder you will find picture order forms. Picture day for the lower school is Thursday, September 29.
Here's a note from Mrs. Carter:
Dear Parents,
This fourth grade group is amazing! I'm super excited to have the opportunity to work with them often throughout the week. Students have been assigned a project centering around our current topic of natural resources. They have the opportunity to select from a variety of options to showcase their gained knowledge. Please ask your child to share with you their choices. Most of the work will be completed out of class. I will have weekly check ins to see how they are progressing. Final projects are due October 10. Thank you for your support! I can't wait to see what they create.
We are sure you and your family enjoyed the busy weekend, and we hope you were able to come to some of the homecoming festivities.
